This article supports catalogue and documentation review. It is not medical advice and does not provide human or veterinary dosing or administration instructions.
Storage and handling information should come from the published product record and its supporting documentation, not from a generic rule applied to every research compound.
Begin with physical form
The physical-form field helps establish what type of catalogue item is being reviewed. A lyophilized material, liquid format, dissolving strip, laboratory supply or merchandise item should not inherit the same handling language simply because it appears in the same storefront.
Use the product-specific storage field
When UWA publishes a storage specification, that field is displayed with the technical product record. Read it exactly as written and keep it with the product identity. If the field is absent, do not create a storage requirement from the SKU or product name alone.
Check supporting documentation
A published SDS may contain additional handling, storage, stability or disposal information. If both a product storage field and an SDS are available, review them together and keep the document tied to the correct product and lot or batch reference.
Avoid assumptions across product families
Similar product names do not guarantee identical formats, strengths or storage information. Review the page for the exact item rather than a related product.
Handling checklist
- Confirm product name, SKU and physical form.
- Read the published storage field.
- Open the SDS when one is published.
- Keep lot or batch identifiers attached to the record.
- Document any transfer into laboratory inventory according to your institution’s procedures.
- Contact UWA Support when a required product record is not published.
UWA product pages are research catalogue records, not medical-use instructions. They do not provide directions for human or veterinary administration.
